On October 14, 2024, a visiting delegation represented by Cai Guoxiong, chairman of the Foshan Returned Overseas Chinese Federation, successfully held business exchange activities with the Trade Department of Szentes, Hungary. This visit aimed to further deepen the economic and trade cooperation relationship between Foshan City and Szentes, and promote the development of cross – border e – commerce and foreign trade.
Members of the Foshan delegation include Cai Guoxiong, chairman of the Foshan Returned Overseas Chinese Federation, Yue Xiaojing, a third – grade researcher of the Foshan Foreign Affairs Office (Foshan Foreign Affairs Bureau), Xie Guowei, chairman of the Chancheng District Returned Overseas Chinese Federation in Foshan, Wu Binghong, deputy director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau of Nanhai District in Foshan, He Bilin, deputy director of the office of the Foshan Returned Overseas Chinese Federation, and Li Juehang, executive chairman of the Foshan Overseas – educated Talents Association. Qu Lei, director of the Trade Department of Szentes and chairman of the Szentes Industrial Park Holding Company Limited, and Toldi Péter and Berecz Attila, general managers of subsidiaries of the Szentes Industrial Park Holding Company Limited, warmly received the visiting delegation.

During the symposium, Cai Guoxiong introduced various aspects of Foshan City, including administrative division, historical culture, industrial development, and social undertakings. By the end of 2023, the permanent population of Foshan City was 9.6154 million, and the regional GDP was 1,327.614 billion yuan. Foshan is a famous manufacturing city with industry as the leading factor and coordinated development of the three major industries. “Made in Foshan” is renowned both at home and abroad, and the furniture industry has obvious advantages. Foshan is one of the important commercial and trade centers in the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone and a national logistics demonstration city in the circulation field. It has a number of large – scale investment and strong – radiation logistics trading and distribution centers.
Qu Lei introduced at the meeting the industrial cross – border e – commerce project currently under construction in Szentes, Hungary, as well as its business cooperation model. The 150 – mu industrial land in the first phase of the project will be developed in the first phase, providing space guarantee for infrastructure construction such as product warehousing and logistics. It has already cooperated with many domestic factories to enter the Hungarian and even European markets, with sales reaching the ten – million – level in RMB and the total sales exceeding the hundred – million – level. The Szentes Industrial Park Holding Company will provide Chinese factories with integrated services of product positioning and sales, as well as a risk – sharing cooperation model. To reduce the initial risks of factories, a variety of overseas warehouse cooperation models are launched, supporting self – construction, cross – border e – commerce platforms, third – party and cooperative overseas warehouses, and even providing free warehousing facilities guarantee.
The visit of the Foshan delegation not only deepened the economic and trade cooperation relationship between Foshan City and Szentes, but also injected new vitality into the high – quality development of the two places. Looking forward to the future, the cooperation between Foshan City and Szentes is expected to be further deepened, especially in the field of cross – border e – commerce. With the continuous change of the global trade environment and the rapid development of e – commerce, both sides will jointly explore new business models and cooperation mechanisms to adapt to the changing market demand.
